Several hybrid penguins have been reported (Napier, 1968; Simeone et al., 2009; Simpson, 1985; White & Clausen, 2002; Woehler & Gilbert, 1990), namely

Eudyptes

  • Rockhopper Penguin x Erect-crested Penguin – Naupier (1968)
  • Rockhopper Penguin x Royal Penguin – Simpson (1985)
  • Rockhopper Penguin x Macaroni Penguin – Woehler & Gilbert (1990), White & Clausen (2002)

Spheniscus

  • Humbolt Penguin x Magellanic Penguin – Simeone et al. (2009)
